Service Description

In the United States property crimes (burglary, robbery and home invasion) make up approximately 70% of ALL crimes reported. So this means that there's a good chance that you could be a victim of this crime and unfortunately it's most likely to occur at our residence. Here's the next kicker. Since Covid there's been a huge shift in people working from home. Here's why that last fact is important. Typically burglaries occur during the day in empty residences while the homeowner is at work. But now with more people working from home, this presents a much higher potential for Home Invasions and they're inherently more dangerous when compared to burglaries. This is why it's very important to know how to deter would be burglars and home invaders in the first place so they don't "pick your home", there's a science to it. It's also important to know practical ways to actually fortify your home and make it very hard to get in (doors and windows). Lastly it's important to have a plan for your children and an overall safety plan in the event of a home invasion. Graduates of this course will know how to: - Understand the anatomy of Burglaries, Home Invasions and how to plan for them - Understand the Psychology, Strategy and Trends used by would be criminals - Understand the anatomy of doors and windows and how they're vulnerable - Effectively research and develop a Target Hardening Strategy for your home - Effectively develop and implement a Home Fortification Strategy for your home - Effectively develop and implement a Home Defense Strategy - Plan a total in home safety plan What to bring: Pen Paper **Students should sketch a rough draft of what the floor plan of your home is like. This will be used in class during our practical exercise to build your defense plan. The sketch should highlight all windows and doors, bedrooms, hallways, living room and kitchen. It doesn't have to be professional, just a sketch lol.
